PADI: Enriched Air Diver Course

Longer dive times, shorter surface intervals – does that sound like a dream come true? With the PADI Enriched Air Diver course, we make this a reality. Yucatan Diving Crew introduces you to the wonders of enriched air diving, also known as nitrox, in the beautiful cenotes of Yucatan.

What are you going to learn?

This course will open up a new world of diving for you, extending your bottom time and reducing your surface interval. You will learn:

  • Techniques for getting more dive time by using enriched air nitrox.
  • Enriched air scuba diving equipment considerations.
  • How to manage oxygen exposure.
  • How to tell what’s in your scuba tank.

Course Components:

The Enriched Air Diver course consists of two main parts that will be completed in 1 day with 2 immersions:

  • Knowledge Development: Understand the benefits, risks and proper procedures for using enriched air nitrox for dives up to 40% oxygen. This includes managing oxygen exposure, analyzing oxygen content in your scuba tank and setting your dive computer.
  • Two Open Water Dives: Apply what you’ve learned with two open water dives in the awe-inspiring cenotes of Yucatan.

Scuba diving requires a minimum level of health and fitness. Chronic health conditions, certain medications and/or recent surgery may require you to get written approval from a physician before diving.

Avoid disappointment, download and review the Diver Medical form to ensure you won’t need a physician’s approval to dive before enrolling in a scuba course. Instructors, divemasters and dive shop staff are not physicians and should not be asked for medical advice; only medical professionals can give medical clearance to dive.

If you (or your physician) have questions about medical fitness to dive, contact the experts at Divers Alert Network (DAN).
